Big Turnout Expected for Destination Johnson

Johnson expects more 200 admitted students and their partners to descend upon Sage Hall for Destination Johnson, the school’s premiere hosting weekend, which runs from Friday, April 13 through Sunday, April 15. The newly admitted members of the class of 2014 (and Accelerated MBA class of 2013) will get a chance to engage with 200 current Johnson students and families, plus alumni, faculty, and staff over the three-day event.

“This year's DJ will be the biggest ever," says Renita Chaney, MBA '13, Johnson Admissions Ambassador Lead for Destination Johnson. "We’ve also had an overwhelming response from current MBA students—they have been working around the clock to ensure that the momentum and excitement are funneled into an awesome, memorable weekend for the new members of the Johnson community."

The weekend kicks off on Friday, April 13, with various informal information sessions, and an opportunity to meet with faculty teaching in the MBA core curriculum. Incoming students will be officially welcomed by Johnson Dean L. Joseph Thomas that evening, along with several notable alumni. Kamal Mistry, MBA '94, will give the keynote address.

Kamal, a partner at Deloitte since 2002, leads the firm’s Consulting Global Deployment Program, sponsors tri-state South Asian activities, leads the Senior Consultant Advisory Committee, and is actively involved in MBA recruiting at Cornell University, NYU and Columbia. His clients include JPMorgan Chase, Deutsche Bank, Citibank, Bank of America, UBS and Barclays.

At Destination Johnson, admitted students to get to know their future classmates, current Johnson students, Sage Hall, the campus, and the Ithaca area.
