Helen Shan provides overall leadership with worldwide responsibility for treasury, corporate development and investor relations. Her scope of accountability includes capital markets, risk operations, pension fund management, bond and equity investor communication and strategic corporate actions. She also serves as a member of the Chairman’s Council and is a corporate officer.
At Pitney Bowes, Helen has raised over $2.5 billion of capital in the debt and preferred stock markets. She was given the responsibility of corporate development and investor relations earlier this year, and has helped execute three acquisitions. In addition, as part of the Company’s Strategic Transformation program, she helped lead the reorganization of the Finance group, which included the redesign of the organizational structure, the planning process and the global shared services group.
Helen joined Pitney Bowes in the fall of 2005 after 13 years in banking at JPMorgan Securities, Inc. and Salomon Brothers Inc. Her most recent role at JPMorgan was as Managing Director, Diversified Industries, where she was the investment banking client executive responsible for the relationship management of a portfolio of Fortune 500 industrial and business services companies, including Pitney Bowes. She has worked in both New York and in London, and has traveled extensively around the world.
Helen earned her dual undergraduate degrees from the Wharton School of Business and the School of Applied Science and Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell. She is a member of the Advisory Council for Johnson at Cornell and has also been involved in Asian Professional Extension Inc. (APEX), a New York City non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the development of Asian American youth.
