Mark H. Eckhardt, ‘81
Mark H. Eckhardt is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of S. C. Johnson & Son, Inc. (SCJ), the privately-held family company that is one of the world’s leading marketers and manufacturers of household cleaning, home storage, air care, and insect control products. Mr. Eckhardt assumed the CFO role in January 2009. He is responsible for the Global finance function which includes Business finance, Corporate Control, Corporate Development including M&A, Treasury, Tax, Business Planning & Analysis and Audit. He is also responsible for Corporate Aviation, Corporate Security and Corporate Services and Facilities.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors for SCJ − Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay. Additionally he is both Chairman of the SCJ U.S. Retirement Plan as well as the SCJ U.S. Employee Deferred Profit Sharing and Savings Plan. He is also Chairman of The Conference Board, Council of Financial Executives.
Mr. Eckhardt joined SC Johnson in 1989, and has held various roles, including Regional Controller for Latin America; Vice President, Finance – North America; Vice President – Corporate Treasurer, and Vice President & Chief Information Officer.
He has a master’s degree in business administration from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from Cornell University. He is a non-active Certified Public Accountant in the state of Ohio. He lives in Greendale, WI.
