Bob Stefanowski is Chief Financial Officer of UBS Investment Bank. He joined UBS in December 2011 from 3i Group, PLC, where he was most recently Chairman and Managing Partner, Asia and the Americas. He was a member of 3i’s senior leadership team responsible for the development of 3i’s investment strategy across Asia and the Americas while sitting on 3i’s Group Risk and Investment Committees. Previously, Bob was President and CEO of GE Corporate Finance Europe with overall responsibility for a USD 35 billion portfolio and over 2,000 employees. During his 14-year career at GE, Bob held positions of increasing responsibility in M&A, Finance and Sales. As the CEO of GE Global Media Finance, Bob successfully restructured a USD 5 billion distressed equity and debt portfolio, reducing non-performing assets from over 40% of the portfolio to less than 5%. His actions were instrumental to the turnaround of this business unit. Bob was appointed a company officer by the GE Board of Directors in April 2006. Prior to GE, Bob spent five years in public accounting with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Bob is a graduate of Fairfield University and earned an MBA in Finance from Cornell University. He serves as an adjunct faculty in Finance to the London Business School and Cambridge University. He is also a trustee of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. His first book "Making M&A Deals Happen" was published in February 2007.
