We are back and the first semester is in the rearview mirror. Though first semester was great, second semester comes with some perks:
1) For most of us, internship recruitment almost over! During the first semester, we dedicated countless hours to corporate briefings, networking phone calls and company visits. While that was helpful in determining which companies to apply to, now that the interview closed lists have been finalized, we can focus on the actual interviews, which will take place over the next 2 or 3 weeks.
2) The core is over! For those of you unfamiliar with the program, the core is a set of mandatory classes in the first semester that each first-year student is required to take (unless they pass the exemption exam #notthisguy). While we learned a lot in the core, the process of taking intensive graduate-level classes in subject areas we are completely unfamiliar can grow exhausting. During the second semester, we exchange the core for an immersion program in one of several areas of concentration. My immersion is strategic marketing.
3) Its colder. Take a look at the weather for the next week:
A few notable events of this past week:
Happy Birthday Brian Fisher. Nothing beats cake at 10am.
Interview prep party @ Ruloffs. Good times all around.
