I must say that time has most definitely flown by!  Yesterday (11/6/2011) us 1st years took our 6th and final Finance quiz of the Core!  This means that we are in the final week of Core classes and will take our first of three finals this Saturday - Finance final.  With the culmination of the Core approaching I've been thinking a lot about the resources that have been available to 1st years to help us get through this grueling time period called The Core!  In a previous post, Lynette likened the Core to "Drinking From a Fire Hose."  This is very much the case but the 2nd year students here at Johnson have been an invaluable resource in aiding us 1st years get through the Core.

The 2nd years that I've been in contact with, in many situations, have been the most humble and selfless people I have encountered as an adult (no joke.)  There are both formal and informal settings that they have proven this to be true in, some of which, I was not aware of as a prospective just a year ago.  I'll highlight a couple of examples.

When I came to Johnson I was unaware at how busy I would be.  I think that goes for many of my classmates as well.  Sure, we only have classes three days a week during the Core, but somehow we still end up being busier than ever.  I wanted to document my week - a week of only two class days - to illustrate just how busy one can get here.  The business is definitely warranted because it's for a great cause.  Also, keep in mind that when it seems like there is "down time" I was usually sending emails or working on career related projects.

As of Wednesday, October 5th I can officially say that I have finished my first batch of Core Classes!  The next things to tackle are the finals, which are bound to be “Easy Difficult” as our Microeconomics Professor, Robert Frank, would say.

It’s been almost two months since I’ve been here at Johnson and I can unequivocally say that I am having the time of my life!  My friends and family back home have been asking me how my classmates are and if I’m making friends.  The short answer is YES!

I was born in Milwaukee, WI but grew up in Old Bridge, NJ for most of my life where I was an avid gymnast and soccer player.  I then attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ where I enjoyed pursuing a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Sociology, which I deem a lethal combination.
