It has been a while since my last post. As you would expect work, life, and school is consuming every minute and then some. So while I have wanted to blog, I thought that it might be better to get a little sleep before the next day begins.
On the bonus side, it is a great time of year right now in the San Francisco Bay Area. So, while I was grilling for the family, I took Management Information Systems classwork out to get some more reading done for this week's assignment.
I will work to post more often for the rest of the course. Congratulations to all the people that have already been accepted to the CQEMBA class of 2015.

One of the unique experiences about the CQEMBA program is for a West Coast person like myself, I get to see a real winter. Unfortunately, sometimes that means that we have to make adjustments to schedules to avoid the major winter storms. The weather gods were not on our side and it looked like a major winter storm was going to hit the area on our planned travel day.

I have a winner for the photo location contest on where the picture was taken from Study Break blog post. The location is Puerto Vallrata, Mexico. I hope that after the CQEMBA program, I will get a chance to go back for a couple of weeks of relaxation with my family.
The winner has been given a $25 dollar gift card.

I have been flying all day today to get from SFO to the 2nd residency session for the CQEMBA program. Right now I am stuck in Chicago. Connecting flight is really delayed….. Patience is a good thing.

I started back up classes again after a quick two weekend “winter break.” It is going to be a quick month of Valuation class and Micro Economics before we all meet back at Cornell University and Queen’s University for the second residential session.
I am looking forward to traveling back East for the residential sessions.

Just a quick note to wish everyone Happy Holidays.
Here at the CQEMBA program we have a short break before we start up with classes. Two whole Saturdays off!! I am not sure what I am going to do with all this "free" time on the weekends. I am sure that I will fill it with something. For starters, I will be allowed to sleep in a little since I will not have to get up at 5:15 am in the morning to make sure that I am in the boardroom by 6:30 am class start time. Of course the rest of the time will be filled with holiday family events. Good times ahead.
But in the back of my mind, I know that we can not get to comfortable on this break. Intermixed with the UPS/FedEx packages deliveries of Christmas packages, I got 4 boxes of "presents" from the CQEMBA program. The next set of classes are just around the corner.
Hop in and buckle up, the New Year is about to begin.

Going through the CQEMBA program in this rapid pace I wonder am I learning anything? For me, I would have to say unequivocally yes.....

The team environment. I get to work with people from a variety of different backgrounds giving me a broad and well-rounded perspective on different approaches to solving complex problems.

For working professionals like myself, a wonderful aspect of the CQEMBA program is that it is an 18-month program. However, a lousy aspect about the CQEMBA program is that it an 18-month program. A couple of weeks ago, I was a little jealous of the regular Johnson MBA class of 2014 when I heard that they were on fall break.....
