The calendar shows that we are on the last little bit of course work. To use the football cliché (go Big Red
), the CQEMBA
2014 is on the 10-yard line and it is first and goal. But, metaphors aside there is still a long way to go for the completion of our degree.
My team is knee deep in our global project research. I want to spend all my time just doing that research, but you can’t. You still have other course work that must be completed. And that is the real balancing act.
While I have learned many things during this experience, one thing stands out. Time management. I thought that I was good at time management before this program. Well, I am even better. To succeed in this program you have to understand what to do, when to do it and how to do it. You learn to analyze and process quickly. Why, well because this might be the second case analysis that you have to do this week and your boss is still expecting to provide the normal 110% of your regular work. O, and not to mention the normal “family” activities that you need to be at least be present and participate.
I don’t want to preach a certain time management framework. Just pick one that you believe in and execute it to the best of your ability.
