Glen Dowell, Associate Professor of Management and Organizations is speaking at the Clean Tech Connections conference in San Francisco on November 4th, 2013 called “The Transition to a Sustainable Energy Future through Accelerated Deployment of Clean Technologies Globally.” The conference brings together top innovators, corporations, government agencies, entrepreneurs, investors and thought leaders in an “all keynote” conference. Speaking on the theme of “Breakthrough Capitalism: Corporate Change Leaders,” Dowell’s talk will focus on understanding organizational and personal impediments to the adoption of clean technologies.
Dowell’s research focuses on firms' interactions with their natural, institutional, and competitive environments. Recent projects have explored how CEO educational background affects the firm's responses to institutional pressures, the effect of environmental performance on acquisition probabilities and outcomes, and the influence of behavioral and institutional factors on adoption of energy savings initiatives.
