Park Leadership Fellows Program

Student Profiles

Andrew Herr, MBA Class of 2009

The Park Fellowship gives you the opportunity to think critically about your own talents and goals, particularly on whether or not those two things are aligned. Through group workshops, one-on-one meetings, and personal reflection, you gain a greater understanding of exactly where your most valuable gifts lie. Taking the time to go through this process is helpful not only in finding a job but also in ensuring that you are able to do that job well.

Park Project:

Herr and his classmate Ashish Gambhir are developing a "friends" group that will maintain and improve the waterfront trail along Cayuga Lake. The Cayuga Waterfront Trail (CWFT), which is near completion, is a six-mile multi-use trail that joins Cass Park, Inlet Island, the Ithaca Farmers' Market, Newman Municipal Golf Course, Stewart Park, and the Ithaca/Tompkins County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Herr's efforts have focused on researching best practices of comparable "friends" groups and engaging with the local community to ensure that the CWFT is well maintained for many years.
