Destination Johnson: Weekend of Fun, Information, and Inspiration
Admitted students and their families get to know their future classmates, current Johnson students, the school, and the Cornell MBA experience
More than 200 admitted MBA students, their spouses and partners and children begin arriving on the Cornell University campus today for Destination Johnson, the school’s premiere welcome weekend.
The weekend kicks off Thursday night, when early arrivals are invited to the weekly school-wide Sage Social—this week’s being “Gaypril Sage Social,” hosted by Out for Business.
Beginning on Friday morning, current Johnson students, staff, and faculty will engage admitted students in a host of information sessions, tours, and social events. These range from those related to day-to-day living in Ithaca, to career planning, to networking, to meeting the faculty teaching the core MBA curriculum.
Cornell's Annual Entrepreneurship Celebration takes place on campus April 10 and April 11, offering admitted students opportunities to network with entrepreneurs and attend panels and education sessions, as their schedules permit.
Incoming students will be officially welcomed by Johnson Dean Soumitra Dutta that evening, along with Christine Sneva, executive director of admissions, Angela Noble-Grange, senior lecturer of management communication, and Nick Nickitas, second-year MBA student and founder and CEO of RosieApp. Afterward, guests enjoy a casino night in the Dyson Atrium of Sage Hall, featuring food and beverage unique to Ithaca and the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York.
