Sara Davis is a student in Cornell's City and Regional Planning program researching global efforts to provide water security, water access, and safe sanitation, with a focus on improving water management practices.  She is also interested in how environmental degradation contributes to social and political instability.  Prior to graduate school, Sara worked in Japan for six years as a regional analyst researching trends in Asian terrorism and transnational crime.  She also spent over nine years as an Arabic linguist in the Marine Corps.  The SGE Immersion provides Sara an opportunity to explore how the private sector contributes to advancing social and environmental justice and encouraging policy changes.  She plans to use her SGE experience to inform more effective and efficient water management practices.
