Nirupama grew up and lived in various parts of India. She has a Bachelor's degree in Power Engineering after which she worked as a software engineer In India. After that stint, she decided to return to her first love of power engineering and moved to Seattle to do her MS in Energy Systems from the University of Washington in Seattle. After her MS and before coming to Johnson, Nirupama worked as a Power Systems Research Engineer with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, a Department of Energy Laboratory. Her area of research was smart grid technologies and renewable energy integration. Nirupama is passionate about creating global business solutions for clean and green energy, which she believes will be a key answer to all the growing energy needs being faced in emerging markets.
