As an Indonesian, Wijaya Sumono has lived and understood the cultures of various countries by attending schools in Indonesia, Singapore, China and the US. He is proficient in multiple languages, including Indonesian, Chinese Mandarin, and Taiwanese, and is committed to growth in the emerging markets. Prior to business school, Wijaya worked on multiple roles in purchasing, sales, and business development for a private company engaged in natural rubber manufacturing company and palm oil plantation, a rapidly growing industry in Southeast Asia. He had also done an internship at a hedge fund in San Francisco. Wijaya graduated with a Distinguished Students Scholarship from Beihang University, China, with a BA in Finance and minor in English.
