Amity attended Princeton University, where she completed summer work programs in South Africa, Uganda and Malawi while attaining her bachelor's degree in African Politics. After graduation, she was a Princeton in Africa Fellow with Plan International in Kigali, Rwanda engaged in child rights and youth empowerment in Egypt and Ethiopia. Upon completing her fellowship she made the switch to the private sector as the general manager and marketing director of a dairy, bakery and restaurant owned by a Rwandan entrepreneur. This experience inspired her to found, in conjunction with an international team, Rwanda-Nziza, Rwanda's first artisan owned and operated retail and export platform. During this time she began consulting and became one of a team of three that researched and drafted Rwanda's Small and Medium Enterprise Policy and Strategy. After finishing with these projects, she went on to work on country-level strategic competitiveness with the OTF group, a Boston based international consultancy. She recently continued her international work through Cornell as a SMART program participant, providing strategic market entry advice to the Seven Sisters Winery in South Africa.
