Andy was born in Taiwan, moved to the U.S. then to Japan, and returned to the U.S. all before the age of 10. He enjoys traveling and to date, has traveled to an eclectic list of countries ranging from Peru, Germany, France, the UK, Singapore, Mexico, and Canada. He is currently studying Chinese Mandarin and Japanese through academic coursework and self-study. He comes to Cornell University's Emerging Market Institute with a deep understanding of varying business cultures and customs.
Prior to Johnson, Andy earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering at Rutgers University, where he also conducted stem cells research, worked in R&D at Zoetis, and gained experience as a SAS programmer at the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services. Upon graduation, he chose to work for AstraZeneca as a Specialty Sales Representative, and later, at Medaxial Inc, a distinguished British Health Economic and Market Access consulting firm. Most recently, Andy worked for Becton Dickinson in their Business Development department where he was tasked to conduct due diligence and recommend strategic next steps to the CEO regarding a target investment and acquisition.
Going forward, Andy looks forward to building on his diverse array of private, public, and non-profit sector experience, and analytical and interpersonal skills and applying them to opportunities in the emerging markets. Currently, Andy is President of Johnson's Healthcare & Biotechnology Club.
