Tariboma E. Teme

Tari Teme was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and raised in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He attended Purdue University Lafayette, Indiana where he graduated in 2005 with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology ECET. He went on to work for Intel Corporation in Silicon Valley as a Systems Engineer. In this role, Tari was responsible for providing and maintaining compute resources for various Intel design teams all over the world. After three years in this role, Tari returned to Purdue University for a Masters of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering where he focused on linear-multivariate control systems. Subsequently, Tari accepted an offer from Intel&rsquos prestigious 18-month Rotation Engineer Program REP. Tari worked on three major projects in this program. First, he was a product engineer in charge of validating the first iteration of Google TV. Second, he transitioned to an analog design engineer, where he was responsible for designing and validating serial communication interfaces for next generation mobile and tablet processors. Finally, as a result of a worldview shaped by his experiences growing up in Nigeria, where he saw first-hand how technology could be used to alleviate the plight of the poor, Tari became a product manager. His duties in this position entailed being accountable for the marketing strategy for key server products to be deployed in the telecommunication industry in emerging markets. To further bolster his understanding of doing business in developing economies, Tari continues to serve as a Business Development Coach BDC for a non-profit called Generation Enterprise. As a BDC, Tari provides business advise for a bottom-of-the-pyramid business based in Lagos, Nigeria. Tari is also the founder and current president of the Johnson Africa Business Association ­&ndash an organization setup to provide a steady platform for Cornelians interested in doing business in Africa.

Tari will be pursing a Strategy Consulting career post-MBA he desires to leverage his MBA experience with his technical experiences into a senior consulting role in a top-consulting firm.
