Cornell Technology Transfer Office

Cornell Center for Technology Enterprise and Commercialization - CCTEC is Cornell’s technology transfer office. It hosts many startup company events and supports the creation of startups based on Cornell developed technologies. Business Plan Competitions

Business plan competitions are a great way to raise initial capital for your startup. Cornell programs sponsor some of these events, but there are literally hundreds held nationally each year. The following links provide additional information.

General Assembly

General Assembly (GA) connects a network of campuses to empower individuals through education in technology, business, and design. As GA’s exclusive viewing partner in Ithaca, Johnson’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute will broadcast GA classes at Sage Hall, followed by discussions and brainstorming sessions focused on how to use the information in day-to-day life. Founded in 2011 in partnership with the New York City Economic Development Corp., GA offers ongoing educational programming in nine cities around the world.

IdeaCrossing

IdeaCrossing is a free online resource that connects entrepreneurs with the resources necessary to turn innovative ideas into thriving companies, and established businesses into growing ones. IdeaCrossing is available to anyone committed to supporting and promoting entrepreneurship by creating connections that build businesses.

Cornell Co-Founder Connection

Entrepreneurship@Cornell has partnered with CoFoundersLab to launch Cornell Co-Founder Connection to provide the broad Cornell University community with a free way to find a co-founder/business partner.

Founders Workbench

Undergraduate entrepreneurship is on the rise and more startups than ever are being founded by undergraduate students.  Recognizing that student entrepreneurs are often working on an extremely tight budget, Goodwin Proctor, one of the nation's leading tech law firms, created the award-winning Founders Workbench, a free, online resource that helps early-stage entrepreneurs navigate the legal and organizational challenges faced by startups.
