The mission of the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Institute (“EII”) is to foster knowledge, networking, and opportunity in entrepreneurship and innovation.

Consistent with this mission, EII has implemented an EII Fellows Program for qualified students who desire a deep and broad exposure to these fields as a key part of their Johnson experience.


  • To enhance student entrepreneurship and innovation (E&I) knowledge, skills, and exposure
  • Contribute to an entrepreneurial community that supports and promotes E&I at and beyond Cornell

Coursework Requirements

  • Required: Entrepreneurship and Business Ownership (NBA 5640)
  • 6 credits of optional courses (2 credits for AMBAs) from the list on the EII website
  • CEMBA and CQEMBA Associates must complete their respective innovation/new venture management course and, as applicable, new venture project. EII leadership may also require executive MBA students to do supplemental relevant readings as their course electives are limited.

Fellows Project Requirements

  • Work on EII’s operations, programs, and outreach for 3 semesters (2 for AMBAs) 
  • Launch or contribute meaningfully to a Capstone Project
  • Support faculty in research and professional activities related to entrepreneurship, venture capital, technology commercialization, or other innovation activity
  • Select from a set of identified projects or propose your own

New Fellows Application Process

Call for Applications: 9/15
Applications Due: 10/5; 5:00 pm ET (EMBA applications due 10/16)

  • Submit a Letter of Interest and a Resume. These two items comprise the application.  There is no separate application form
  • EII screens and vets applications; may conduct interviews
  • EII accepts and processes applications on rolling basis but before target decision deadline of 10/16 (10/30 for EMBAs)
  • If accepted, then a “Member” (“Associate” ); “Fellow” upon graduation & completing requirements
