George T. Schneider is a lecturer in the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University, teaching entrepreneurship. After serving four years as an officer in the U S Navy Submarine Force, he embarked on a business career, working in industries as varied as insulated wire and cable, capital goods, and medical products. He served as Vice President Administration, Treasurer and Principle Financial Officer of a public company; President and Chief Operating Officer of a medical products company; and Executive Vice President of the North American subsidiary of a British conglomerate. In 1989 he became President, Chief Executive Officer, and part owner of a small capital goods company, which he ran until he sold it in 1996. He completed his business career as President of a start-up business incubator in Ithaca NY.
Mr. Schneider received a Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering Degree from Cornell University in 1960. Since retiring in 2000, he has taught entrepreneurship at Johnson, served as treasurer and board member of a local biotech company and as board member of a local medical device company. He has served as Board President for a local nursing home; is an Associate Director on the board of the Franzisca Racker Centers in Ithaca; is active in his church and Cornell, where he is a life member of the Cornell Council and Past President of the class of 1959.
