Career Planning

Congratulations on your acceptance to Johnson. We know that the decision to work towards the MBA degree is a big step in your life. In many ways this will be a life-changing experience. We hope these pages will help you see how to make the most of this experience towards the long-term benefit in your career.

Johnson's Career Management Center

The CMC facilitates an integrated career management approach to help two-year and one-year residential MBA students develop careers that they will find satisfying and rewarding. We manage the on-campus recruiting program, advise students regarding all aspects of their comprehensive job searches, and work closely with faculty and student club leaders to provide a wide spectrum of resources.

This summer the Career Management Center's staff of Career Advisors has planned an array of activities and programs aimed at getting you prepared for your job search. Many of the things that you can start doing on your own are reviewed on the How You Can Prepare Yourself page on this site. We have also included page of Recommended Reading for all careers and functions.

Additionally, we will hold a series of webinar sessions in early summer for admitted students in the two–year MBA program. These webinars are intended to be just the start of your job search — we hope they will help ensure that each of you has an opportunity to explore all the career possibilities that exist for you and to choose the function and industry that is right for you. Webinars will run about an hour and will meet around mid-day or late afternoon Eastern Standard Time. We plan to record each webinar, so if you miss one you can catch it later. Stay tuned for webinar dates to be announced in late spring for the class of 2017.
