Cornell Tech MBA Enrollment Checklist
Welcome, Johnson Cornell Tech MBAs! There are several items you must complete before you start your program at Cornell Tech this summer:
Confirm your enrollment, submit your academic records, complete your background check, and other critical items by logging in to Cornell Tech Admitted Student Portal.
All matriculating students are asked to complete a background check with Re Vera Services to confirm that the information provided in their application is an accurate reflection of their experience and accomplishments. Please log into the Cornell Tech Admitted Student Portal for more information or contact the Cornell Tech Admissions team if you have questions.
Review and complete the Cornell University To Do List on Cornell’s New Students website (Please note – this website will be available in early April and will look like a broken link until it is available). Given you will be starting in the summer and not the fall, please disregard the stated summer dates, and complete available tasks right away.
As a residential MBA student, you will automatically be enrolled in Cornell’s Student Health Plan (SHP). Students with partners or families can enroll their dependents in SHP. The university also offers optional student dental and vision plans.
Some students may be eligible to waive the SHP requirement if they meet certain criteria. To review your eligibility and to submit a waiver application, visit the Student Health Benefits website. (Please note that waivers are extremely limited for international students.)
Questions about health insurance or coverage should be directed to Student Health Benefits.
If you will need disability accommodations or services at Cornell, please register with Cornell’s Student Disability Services office before you arrive on campus. If you have any questions about this, please contact us.

Cornell Tech is not currently accepting applications for the 2024-2025 term. The housing application for the 2024-2025 term will open on April 1st at 10 a.m. Eastern and the application link will be available on the website at that time. You can find answers to commonly asked questions on the FAQ page. Please note, that although we intend to offer housing for your program, on-campus housing cannot be guaranteed and therefore it is also recommended that you seek off-campus housing options.

Your housing in Ithaca during the summer residential session is arranged and will be located in a North campus residence hall.
Calculator Requirements
You may choose to procure a calculator with “present value/future value” capability for use during the second half of the Financial Accounting core course. The faculty recommends the TI – BA II Plus, as it is likely to be useful in valuation/finance course(s) as well. Alternatively, you may use a simple calculator.
Computer Requirements
Hardware
Personal Laptop
- You must have a laptop that is less than two years old.
- It should have a minimum 8GB of RAM and at least an Intel i5 processor.
- Choose a Solid-State Drive (SSD) instead of a traditional hard drive.
- Ensure that it has wireless capability of 802.11 b/g/n.
PC or Mac?
- Many Johnson courses require software that is only available on Windows.
- If you choose to use a Mac, you will likely need to install Parallels along with MS Windows as a workaround.
Operating System
- Latest version of Windows or Mac OS.
Purchasing Options
- The Cornell Store offers educational discounts on computers.
Software
- Microsoft Office is required. Download it for free.
- Cornell requires all students to install virus protection on their computers.
- PC users with Windows 10 or 11 already meet this requirement with Windows Defender.
- Mac users should download free anti-virus software.
