Johnson’s Director of Diversity and Inclusion Receives Top Honor
Ricketts recognized for advancing diversity in business education
Johnson’s director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion Nsombi B. Ricketts is receiving The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management 10-Year Anniversary Alumni Award from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School later this week.
The award recognizes a Goizueta Consortium graduate, who has consistently demonstrated a commitment to continuing to advance the Consortium’s Mission—to enhance diversity in business education and leadership by working to eliminate the underrepresentation of African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans in both the member schools’ enrollments and the ranks of management.
Ricketts will be honored Thursday, February 9, 2012, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History in Atlanta.
Prior to joining Johnson in 2009, Ricketts was the manager of diverse talent acquisition at American Express, where she was responsible for developing the national diversity recruiting strategy, as well as leading diversity and inclusion initiatives. Ricketts graduated from the Consortium Study in Management in 2006 and earned her MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University, where she partnered with the director of diversity and community initiatives to create the school’s new diversity plan.
Ricketts was also president of the Black MBA Association and received the 2006 Global Multicultural Leader Award for establishing Goizueta’s Diverse Leadership Conference.
Ricketts received her BS in psychology from Northwestern University, and was the director of marketing at Kaplan Test Prep, before entering business school.
