Greetings from ODI,

October is the busiest and most exciting time of the year for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI).  Next month we will be hosting numerous events both on and off campus to connect alumni, current and prospective students, and corporate business diversity partners.  We invite you to join us at the following events celebrating Johnson’s diverse community.

In partnership with Alumni Affairs, ODI will be hosting the following networking receptions in Atlanta and Anaheim.  Please click here for more information and to register.

Johnson National Black MBA Reception – Atlanta, GA
Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center

This reception will take place during the National Black MBA conference (Oct. 4-8, 2011)

Johnson National Society of Hispanic MBAs Reception – Anaheim, CA
Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Hilton Anaheim

This reception will take place during the National Society of Hispanic MBAs conference (Oct. 13-15, 2011)

On campus, we welcome all members of the Johnson community to attend our second annual Diversity Symposium: A Road Map for Entrepreneurship and Leadership, on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011. A student-led collaboration between the Black Graduate Business Association, the Latino Business Students Association, and Cornell’s undergraduate Minority Business Students Association, the Diversity Symposium is a holistic forum on diversity and business.  Designed to attract alumni, students and professionals, this year’s event will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, networking opportunities, and more.  The symposium will begin with an exclusive, pre-conference networking reception on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011.

Finally, ODI will welcome almost 100 diverse prospective students to campus for our annual hosting weekends. At these events diverse applicants will learn about the Johnson MBA through class visits, seminars, and receptions, as well as experience the support they can expect from ODI and the entire Johnson community.  Johnson Women in Business  will be held Oct. 20-21, 2011 and Johnson Means Business  on Oct. 27-29, 2011 – timed to coincide with our Diversity Symposium.

These initiatives would not be possible without the generous support of our alumni and corporate partners.  We hope to see you soon at one of these great events!
