2012 has been a very successful year for ODI thus far. We launched the Johnson Diversity Council (JDC) in February to support the Dean and Management Committee in implementing our community’s diversity and inclusion initiatives. We also received a record number of applications through The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, reflecting an increase of almost 50% compared to last year. I will be representing Johnson and sharing my story as a proud Consortium alumna next week at the Experience the Consortium! NYC Event on April 10th- sponsored by Citi.
Last month we partnered again with the President's Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) to celebrate Women’s History Month with our annual Cornell Graduate Women’s Power Lunch on March 2nd- sponsored by J.P. Morgan Chase. ODI also kicked off diversity recruiting for this year by attending the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) conference and the Harambee Bretton Woods Symposium last week.
April will be another exciting month as we get ready to welcome admitted students at Destination Johnson (DJ) on April 13th-15th. ODI will host welcome receptions during DJ with BGBA, LBSA and O4B; a Consortium breakfast; and Sunday Brunch with WMC. Later this month we will host our second annual Forté Career Lab on April 25th in Sage Hall. This event is planned by Forté Fellows at Johnson to help undergraduate Cornell women learn about business school and post MBA careers.
Finally, ODI will launch our 2nd alumni giving campaign later this month. Alumni and other supporters can Give to ODI by June 30th to help advance diversity and inclusion at Johnson. Thanks for your support!
