If you’re looking for an exceptional MBA graduate program in the field of investment management, you’ve come to the right place. The Parker Center for Investment Research at Johnson provides MBA students with the opportunity to manage real money for real investors at a state-of-the-art analytical facility, under the guidance of faculty and alumni investment professionals. Our $9 million Cayuga Fund is a stand-alone legal entity and an integral part of the asset management curriculum at Johnson, teaching students not only how to “go long” stocks but also the art of shorting. We have deep ties to industry through our highly regarded events such as the MBA Stock Pitch Challenge, and the Women in Investing conference; and our corporate sponsors include many top-tier firms such as Fidelity Investments, Capital Research Group, Wellington Management, State Street Global Advisors, MFS, T. Rowe Price, CFA Institute, BNY Mellon, PIMCO, Putnam Investments and American Century Investments.
For students, we provide structured opportunities to learn the art and science of becoming successful professional investors and provide them with the resources they need to do so through our state of the art trading room. In the first year of the MBA program, students have select opportunities to be coached by alumni mentors in preparation for their January/February internship interviews through the Mentorship in Asset Management Program (MAP), try out to be first year assistant portfolio managers for the Cayuga MBA Fund (First Year Sector Analysts Program), compete to represent Cornell in the MBA Stock Pitch Challenge, and for women, participate in our much lauded Women in Investing (WIN) conference and compete to be part of the pitching team at this event. Students also have the opportunity to participate in various treks to investment management firms in Boston and New York and learn what it takes to be successful as a professional investor. Our thriving student club, the Investment Management Club, enables students to practice researching, writing, and pitching stocks and hosts several guest lecturers in the field.
If you’re a prospective student, you should know that many of our students have landed successful careers in investment management and we encourage you to take advantage of our exceptionally close-knit alumni circle, in addition to the multitude of other resources mentioned above, for your networking and job search process.
