Visiting senior lecturer, Executive-in-residence, Johnson
Rich Marin is currently visiting senior lecturer and executive-in-residence at Johnson. He was previously Chairman and CEO of Bear Stearns Asset Management. Prior to joining Bear Stearns, he was chairman of Deutsche Asset Management, when he left the company in March 2000 to co-found Beehive Ventures, LLC, an early-stage venture capital business. Mr. Marin was vice chairman of BT Alex Brown as well as a member of the Management Committee of Bankers Trust.
Mr. Marin was with Bankers Trust since his graduation from Johnson in 1976. He is a director of six private technology companies and serves as trustee of CARE, as well as a director of the Blue Heron Arts Center in New York City.
Mr. Marin is a member of the Cornell University Council, the Major Gifts Committee, the Entrepreneurship and Personal Enterprise Program Advisory Council. He is also president of the Class of '75.
A strong supporter of Johnson, he has served on its Advisory Council since 1990, and as national chair of its Annual Fund since 1995. Mr. Marin was a major contributor to the Sage Hall Renovation Project, is a member of the Parker Center Advisory Board and a director of the Cayuga MBA Fund, and, most recently, a contributor and advisor to the Big Red Venture Fund.
A 1975 graduate of Cornell University, with a BA in economics and government, Mr. Marin received an MBA in finance from Cornell in 1976.
