Round 2…Turn on your phones!

It has been a long but exceptional first half of the admissions season.  Round 1 admits have shown their passion and enthusiasm giving us a high yield so far on offers.  Since returning from Cornell’s winter break, the admissions committee has been tirelessly reviewing round 2 applications.  Classes did not begin until two weeks ago and because many of our interviewees prefer to wait for our full visit experience, round 2 interviews have been scheduled in a very short amount of time.  All round 2 candidates who will be interviewed have been notified and scheduled.  Round 2 offer calls will begin tomorrow and continue through the week as interviews are completed.  So turn on your phone and pick up, if you are not sure who it is, it could be one of us!

Throughout January, many admitted students as well as applicants have taken advantage of our Predictions Dinners which brings Johnson alumni and current students together for a wonderful evening featuring impressive keynote speakers.  Recently, I joined admitted students as well as round 2 applicants in New York City which featured Johnson alumna, Irene Rosenfeld Chairman and CEO of Mondelēz International, a fantastic and inspiring speaker!

In February, our class visits, Sage Socials and speaker events continue to be a great attraction for those of you ready to *brave* our winter weather.  I know that this change in season can be shocking to those of you from warmer climates, but we enjoy meeting you so please make a trip to Ithaca.  We hold office hours every afternoon so we can meet and get to know you.

Round 3 is up next…deadline is February 12th and we are excited to get started on reading these applications.  We have received several inquiries about whether international students are considered in round three.  We changed our deadlines this year to accommodate all our applicants around the world so that you are able to begin the visa process once final decisions are made.  Round four was eliminated because we needed to align our deadlines with two different matriculation dates for the one-year and two-year programs.  For international candidates in progress to complete their round 3 application, you can schedule a session with our London-based International Recruitment Manager, Charlotte Taylor at  Please email her directly for an appointment; there are limited slots available, so contact her as soon as possible.

For waitlisted candidates, Adcom Member, Nichole Grossman will be hosting two sessions to help answer your questions and provide insight into how we approach our waitlist:

I want to take this opportunity to recognize the amazing team I am privileged to work with each day.  Each member of the Admissions and Financial Aid team works together for our mission to enroll the best residential classes at Johnson - bravo to an amazing team and thank you for all you do.
