Courses, Immersions, Internships

In addition to its foundation courses in core business skills, the Johnson School offers 18 courses specifically focused on all aspects of entrepreneurship.

Some of these are included in the Enterpreneurship and Private Equity Immersion, a concentrated package of eight courses for individuals interested in starting high-growth businesses and/or engaging in private equity investments. Taught in the first year, this immersion gives Johnson School students exceptional preparation for summer internships.

In addition to the entrepreneurship courses offered through the Johnson School, MBA students may choose from more than 30 specialized courses for entrepreneurs across the Cornell campus. These include courses specific to food service, graphic design, human resources, and legal aspects of IPOs, as well as multiple sciences and technologies. See a complete list of courses for entrepreneurs.

Internships provide another way that MBA students gain experience while providing valuable service to companies at a modest cost. Entrepreneurship students have opportunities to work with venture capital firms as well as with new businesses or those ramping up for significant growth. In addition to internships arranged through the Johnson School, students and host companies also find matches through Cornell's EPE Internship Program.
