Admissions
Each year, a select group of managers and senior professionals join the Cornell Executive MBA program. They come from a wide range of backgrounds and industries, bringing experience and commitment to a program that prepares them for the management challenges of the future. If you share that commitment, we welcome your application.
The Cornell Executive MBA program enters a class of approximately 60 students each July. Candidates should apply online. The admission committee reviews applications and admits students on a "rolling basis" until the class is filled. A complete application consists of the following:
- Application form, current resume, and company organization chart
- Official transcripts for all previous post-secondary education. This includes both completed and incomplete studies at both U.S. and non-U.S. institutions. If the official transcript is not in English, we will require an official translation and evaluation from an approved body. Please see http://www.naces.org/members.htm for a list.
- Two letters of recommendation
- Personal statement with objectives for pursuing the EMBA
- Paid application fee of $150
- Personal interview
The admission committee schedules interviews after receiving application materials. Interviews are typically conducted in New York City. In some cases, a telephone interview may be substituted for a personal interview.
Upon admission to the program, you must submit a $2,000 deposit to reserve a seat in the class. The deposit is applied to the first year's tuition and is non-refundable. You will also need to purchase or arrange unlimited access to a laptop computer capable of running current business software.
- Experience, career progression, and potential for advancement
- Academic readiness for graduate study
- Current level of responsibility
- Ability to contribute to class learning
- Motivation and commitment to the program
