Cornell University The Johnson School at Cornell University

Customized Program

Required and Recommended Courses

Students in the Customized Program complete five credits of core courses in the Johnson School during the spring semester. Classmates in these courses are Johnson School first-year students. In addition, they take 10 or more credits of unconstrained, graduate-level electives, and participate in appropriate group activities. The electives can be graduate courses offered by the Johnson School or Cornell University's other colleges, including (but not limited to) the School of Industrial and Labor Relations, the College of Human Ecology, the College of Engineering, and the Law School.

There is no practicum in the Customized Program. Students are sometimes allowed to participate in a practicum offered in one of the standard immersions, but only in special circumstances and with the professor's permission.
