Finance
Faculty
The Johnson School's faculty roster includes a long list of nationally and internationally renowned experts in Finance and related fields. Here are just a few:
- Maureen O'Hara, the first person to serve as president of all of the top-three professional organizations in finance
- Yaniv Grinstein, who has won multiple awards and served as a Visiting Scholar at the Securities and Exchange Commission
- Robert Jarrow, whose leading-edge mathematical models on pricing assets and derivatives, liquidity risk, and risk management are used by financial firms
- Robert Swieringa, a member of GE's Board of Directors, former member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board, and an authority on corporate governance
- Robert Frank, a monthly contributor to the New York Times "Economic Sense" column, prolific author of acclaimed books, and formerly chief economist for the Civil Aeronautics Board.
- Sanjeev Bhojraj, Faculty Director of the Parker Center for Investment Research, with expertise in behavioral finance, firms' discretionary disclosure of information, and corporate governance mechanisms.
There are three other important points to be made about the people who teach our classes:
- First, they are exceptional educators; many have won awards for their teaching, and they choose to engage deeply with our students.
- Second, because of our location and the nature of our deliberately-small Johnson School community, our faculty are physically present and available, unlike many of their peers in city universities for whom teaching is a once-or-twice-a-week activity in a schedule largely focused on other careers.
- Third, we have chosen to engage both leading researchers and leaders with high-level industry experience into our classrooms. So in addition to learning from those who are creating new theory and knowledge, our students also learn from lecturers who have a depth of on-the-ground experience, including a great deal at the highest levels of their organizations. Among them are:
- Al Biloski, retired Managing Director of Merrill Lynch
- Bob Andolina, retired Managing Director at Lehman Brothers
- Rich Marin, former chairman and CEO of Bear Stearns Asset Management
