Admissions Outreach
Dear Johnson School Alumni,
The school is enjoying a tremendously successful recruiting season, which will begin wrapping up with the final application round in March 2007. And a great deal of thanks goes to the hundreds of enthusiastic and dedicated graduates, who generously gave their time to admissions efforts.
Well over 100 alumni staffed tables and talked to prospective students at recruiting fairs across the nation and the world. Others attended mixers for admitted students, to answer questions and share their experiences at the Johnson School and afterward, as they carried their MBAs into the business world. Still others reached out to admitted students by telephone, providing even more of the personal touch, for which our school is known.
The result of our collective efforts is stellar:
- The number of applications for the two-year and one-year MBA programs is up almost 13 percent, to 2,024 from 1,797 for all of last year.
- Growth in the number of applications is even more dramatic for the school's traditional two-year program, with a 15 percent increase at the close of Round 3, to 1,936 applications.
- Class of 2009 MBA students who have made deposits to hold their places boast a median GMAT score of 690, and an average undergraduate GPA of 3.35.
I encourage you to help us sustain and build upon these impressive numbers. Here's how you can become involved:
- Attend a recruiting fair
- Attend meet-and-greet events for prospective students
- Call admitted students
- Host a yield event for admitted students
Please contact me at Sage Hall if you have questions or suggestions. Your engagement with prospective and admitted students brings the Johnson School experience directly to the candidates.
