Jack M. Ferraro, MBA '70
Jack M. FerraroJack Ferraro retired in 2000 from Neuberger & Berman, LLC, where he spent 21 years as a money manager of individual and institutional accounts. He became a general partner in 1983, a principal when the firm converted to a limited liability company and a shareholder when the firm completed its public offering in October 1999. Prior to joining Neuberger, Mr. Ferraro was a portfolio manager at the Banca Del Gottardo in Lugano, Switzerland and a securities analyst with Oppenheimer and Co. in New York and London. Mr. Ferraro received an A.B. from Dartmouth College in 1967 and an M.B.A. with distinction from the Johnson School in 1970. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst, having completed the program in 1977.
Mr. Ferraro sits on the Johnson School Advisory Council, and he is a past member of the Cornell University Council. He served for three years as president of the Johnson School Alumni Association and is currently a member of the boards of the Johnson School's Parker Center and the Cayuga MBA Fund.
Since 1985 Mr. Ferraro has held many positions on the Board of Trustees of the Hackley School (Tarrytown, NY) including serving as President from 1990 - 2000. He was made an Honorary Alumnus in 2004 and received the school's Medal of Honor in 2000. He currently serves as Board Secretary. In addition, Mr. Ferraro served on the Blair Academy Board of Trustees from 1994 - 2000.
Mr. Ferraro's additional board service includes the BMP Sunstone Corporation and the Sundance Institute. Regarding the former, he is Chairman of the Compensation Committee and also serves on the Executive and Audit Committees. With respect to Sundance, he serves on the Audit and Finance Committees. Mr. Ferraro is a member of the Honorary Board of the National Ability Center where he also served as President of the board.
Mr. Ferraro lives full time in Utah: in the Glenwild Community just outside of Park City and also in St. George, located in the Southwest corner of the state. His wife, Marianne, is an alumna of the University of Stockholm. They have two children: Jesse, Class of '98 Davidson College and MFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 2002 and Melissa, Class of 2000 from the University of Rochester and an alumna of the two year theater program at the Circle-In-The-Square Theater in New York City.
