Helen Shan, MBA '93

Helen Shan is vice president and treasurer at Pitney Bowes Inc., where she provides overall leadership with worldwide responsibility for treasury and risk operations, including capital markets, cash management, insurance, pension fund management, and enterprise risk management. In addition, she manages banking and rating agency relationships. She also serves as a member of the chairman's council and is a corporate officer.

Shan joined Pitney Bowes in the fall of 2005 after 13 years in banking at JP Morgan Securities, Inc. and Salomon Brothers, Inc. Her most recent role at JP Morgan was as managing director, diversified industries, where she was the investment banking client executive responsible for the relationship management of a portfolio of Fortune 500 industrial and business services companies, including Pitney Bowes. She has worked in both New York and in London, and has traveled extensively around the world.

Shan grew up in New Jersey and earned her dual undergraduate degrees from the Wharton School of Business and the School of Applied Science and Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the Johnson School of Business at Cornell University. She is also involved in Asian Professional Extension Inc. (APEX), a New York City non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the development of Asian American youth, and is a member of the Advisory Council for the Johnson School. She lives in New York City.
