A Message from Karrie L. Borgelt, director of Alumni Affairs

Karrie L. BorgeltStrengthening our alumni programs
Summer is quickly coming to an end, and we hope you were able to find some time to relax with family and friends.

I'd like to introduce myself as the new director of Alumni Affairs at the Johnson School. Since June 30 I have been getting acquainted with new faces both on and off campus. I found out very quickly that the Johnson School community is unique and powerful. People are motivated, excited, and ready to make things happen and take our programs to the next level. I have had the pleasure of meeting alumni at Reunion and alumni in the New York, San Francisco Bay area, and Philadelphia regions. Without a doubt, you are enthusiastic, honest, and sincerely committed individuals. Over the next few years, I look forward to meeting many more of you as our Alumni Affairs team will be traveling extensively, extending our global outreach.

This year will be an exciting time for us. Our fully staffed Alumni Affairs and Development team has plenty of opportunities to strengthen current programs and develop new ones. The Alumni Affairs team will focus on strengthening partnerships with the regional clubs and the alumni leadership both domestically and internationally. We will be creating a "Volunteer Toolkit" to support our regional steering committee members and alumni volunteers. We will also establish a volunteer succession plan for alumni, which will allow volunteers to step down from their leadership roles confident that their programs will be in good hands. We also plan to strengthen our partnership with our class officers, both as students and new graduates. Broadening our outreach to class officers well before a reunion year will facilitate larger class attendance at reunion and regional events.

In addition, we will be more strategic in our collaboration with Career Management, Admissions, and Corporate Relations to offer experiences with the Johnson School that are relevant and rewarding for you. We plan to take a more active role to provide volunteer opportunities for current students to engage in alumni affairs, networking, and regional events, bridging the student to alumni transition once they receive their MBA. As we work to increase numbers in our suite of MBA programs offered at the Johnson School, there is a demand for strategic young alumni programming. We plan to expand this over the next few years.

Our alumni dedicate endless hours to help us provide lifelong learning and networking opportunities and to identify prospective students. Thank you from all of us in Alumni Affairs!

Truly,
Karrie L. Borgelt
