Overview
Our Approach
BR Ventures and BR Incubator are dedicated to helping entrepreneurs achieve their dreams. Knowing what it takes to make ideas = business is what we do best.
BRV's dynamic team of student fund managers provides an integrated, cross-functional skill set--from finance and accounting to science and engineering--to realize startups' commercial potential and creative vision. BRV's unique structure, which grants principal responsibilities to each manager, gives the team control over every aspect of the fund. This setup translates to an unparalleled agility in discovering prospective investments and an enviable responsiveness to venture partners and portfolio companies.
Fund managers execute each step of the venture capital process:
- Searching for and selecting investment opportunities
- Performing due diligence
- Negotiating term sheets
- Making investment decisions
- Guiding transaction through closing
Fund managers are guided by a prestigious advisory board of experienced professionals from venture capital, law, finance, and operations, as well as Johnson School faculty advisors.
BRV's position on Cornell's campus provides proprietary deal flow, allowing the fund to identify promising ventures and get involved at the seed stage. Managers often help entrepreneurs establish their first prototype, fund marketing plan development, and introduce key personnel to take the venture to the next stage of growth.
