Conference Details:
We all know that networking is essential to a successful job search, but too often networking just becomes socializing – we meet people, have pleasant conversations and nothing comes of it. Whether you are engaged in an active job search, or just open to a new opportunity, this career forum will show you how to change your approach to networking so you generate results.
During this two hour session, you will learn how to refine your approach to networking, focus your message and initiate the conversations that result in job opportunities. Following the presentations, you will spend an hour in a structured workshop, honing your skills, sharing job leads and resources, and making connections.
The workshop will be facilitated by MaryAnne Denniston, whose more than 20 years experience in corporate recruiting will provide tips and guidance from the employer’s perspective.
The Career Forum will feature guest speakers, Laura Allen, on The 15 Second Pitch, and Maury Hanigan, on Productive Networking. Laura Allen’s approach to helping people market themselves more effectively and creating a cohesive, person marketing strategy has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times and other national business publications. Maury Hanigan’s expertise in MBA recruiting has made her a nationally known expert who consults with leading investment banks, consulting firms and Fortune 500 companies on MBA hiring strategies.
