On-Campus Recruiting Requirements for First Year Students
To participate in on-campus recruiting first-year students must complete three requirements:
- A Mock Interview with a second year Career Coach
- A Mock Interview with NovAspire
- Johnson Talent System ( JTS)
You must complete two mock interviews to participate in on-campus recruiting. We strongly recommend that you do the mock interview with your Career Coach first to get the most out of the NovAspire mock interviews.
Career Coach Mock Interview
Your Career Coach is any Career Work Group Leader. If you would like to select a CWG leader who is not the leader of your CWG, or if you are not participating in a CWG, please come to the CMC for a list of second years by industry. For these interviews you are responsible for:
- Contacting the Career Coach to set-up a time and date
- Reserving a room or meeting place to hold the interview
- Reminding the Career Coach to fill out a CMC evaluation form so we know the requirement is complete. You can also get this form from the CMC before your mock interview, or download and print the document here
Mock Interview with NovAspire
The school uses the services of the executive coaching firm NovAspire so that each of you can have one professional mock interview. You will be asked to sign up for one two-hour slot in which four students will have short digitally recorded interviews with the coach. Students will provide feedback to one another as well as receive comments from the professional coach. Sign-ups will be available at the beginning of November.
You are required to participate in this if you wish to be a part of on-campus recruiting. For these mock interviews you are responsible for:
- Signing up for your NovAspire Mock Interview in the CMC
- Staying for the entire two hours of your time slot
- Dressing in business attire for the mock interview
- Bringing a blank DVD to the interview, as you keep the recording for later review
