Dual Degree Programs
MILR/MBA Dual Degree Program
- This dual-degree program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education that results in a depth of understanding in both industrial and labor relations and general management.
- It is possible to earn both degrees in two and a half years by eliminating overlapping coursework.
- You must apply to and be admitted to both programs.
- You are expected to coordinate the entire semesters with your advisor, paying particular attention to the fall/spring timing of required courses in both schools.
- The requirements for the MILR/MBA dual degree are:
- 18 credit hours of required MILR courses or approved substitutes
- 20 credit hours of MBA core courses
- 25 credit hours of MBA elective courses
- 13 credit hours in any elective courses approved by the candidate's advisor.
- All exemptions of required courses in either degree program must be accomplished using each school's standard exemption or waiver procedure. Exemptions and waivers do not reduce the total number of credit hours required for the dual-degree program.
- Register through the School of Industrial and Labor Relations for 2 semesters and pay tuition for them to the ILR School. Register through the Johnson School for 3 semesters and pay tuition for them to the Johnson School. You can take courses in either college during any of the five semesters.
- Inform each school of your intention to register with them during the semester before you actually enroll.
