Help Desk Services
The Help Desk is the School's center for obtaining assistance for technology issues and is available every business day from 8am - 5pm EST via Email (helpdesk@johnson.cornell.edu), phone (607-255-6300 or 800-847-2082, option #6), and walk-up (253 Sage Hall). The Help Desk resolves simple problems (taking 15 minutes) and dispatches staff to resolve more complex problems taking a longer period of time. Technology Services installs, leverages pricing, and provides general support for common software such as: English versions of Microsoft Office, English versions of Windows Operating Systems, network printers, network storage resources, and CJ Online.
Virtually any other software product obtained, we can assist in the installation of on your computer and be responsible for its installation in the PeopleSoft Lab, when appropriate. However, we will rarely have the expertise to resolve problems with the way the unsupported software works or be able to work with it to create a specialized environment. This responsibility would sit with your local expert (staff member or TA/RA.) If you have special needs or questions about the PeopleSoft Lab, please contact the Help Desk.
Audio Visual (projectors, VCRs, microphones, teleconferencing equipment, etc.) and video telecommunication services are available to the Johnson School Community for use in Sage Hall for School-related functions. Please see our website for more Audio Visual and classroom resources. If you have special needs or questions about AV, please e-mail av@johnson.cornell.edu.
All computers, computer ports, and wireless networks in Sage Hall are connected to the Johnson School's LAN (local area network.) You can use the wireless connectivity on every floor of the Johnson School (there are some noted areas that have a low signal due to building infrastructure.)
Training is available through CIT (Faculty/staff accounts: org_dev@cornell.edu or 254-6400 and Student accounts: it-training@cornell.edu.) They offer training on Office products and miscellaneous other areas via the web (Business Skills Curricula, IT End-User Curricula, IT Professional Curricula, IT Certification Curricula, and Workplace Compliance Curricula.)
