Online Resources

WebSmart offers tools, resources, training and style guides for working on the Johnson School's web space. It will tell you how to manage a club Web page, get additional training or prepare copy for the web.

CU People, Cornell's personal web page service, provides space for the personal web pages of Cornell students, staff and faculty. You may not use your allocation to provide space for other individuals (friends, family) or organizations (clubs, groups). Material on your web pages may not violate federal, state or local laws or university policies or codes. There is no charge for this service; however, you will require a Network ID to register for it.

What you get:
  • Access to your files via File Transfer (FTP) using your Net ID and password (see Publishing a Web Page for details). Access is also possible via the HTTP PUT method if your HTML editor supports it: You will need to be running Kerberos and Sidecar to use the PUT method.
  • Twenty megabytes (20 MB) of space for the purpose of making available personal web pages. You should not use this space to post material on behalf of other parties. There is no provision for purchasing additional space.
  • A web address (URL) in the form http://www.people.cornell.edu/pages/NetID/ where the term NetID is replaced with your Network ID in all lowercase letters.
