Suresh Muthulingam
Acting Assistant Professor of Operations Management
PhD, UCLA Anderson School of Management
Suresh Muthulingam's research interests lie at the intersection of operations management and environmental management. He uses empirical methods to investigate behavioral issues that influence the adoption of sustainable operating practices. In one of his ongoing projects, he investigates the underlying factors that influence the depth of adoption of the voluntary LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards for green buildings. Another project investigates the managerial biases that influence the adoption and non-adoption of energy efficiency initiatives, using a database of more than 100,000 recommendations provided to more than 13,000 small- and medium-sized manufacturing firms. Muthulingam joined the Johnson School faculty in 2009. He previously worked on the leadership team that established the Operations Consulting practice for IBM Global Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Coopers & Lybrand in India.
