Professor Park's expertise centers around the analysis of behavioral data to understand and forecast customer shopping/purchasing activities, and to conduct customer relationship management. His other major research interest lies in developing new models of marketing research and marketing strategy. These models help firms gather and analyze marketplace data to make better marketing decisions with respect to segmentation, targeting, and positioning. His published work appears in leading journals like Journal of Marketing Research, Management Science, and Marketing Science. He is on the editorial board of Marketing Science. He received the Johnson School's Exceptional Research Award in 2004-05 and 2005-06. The Marketing Science Institute identified him as one of the young scholars most likely to influence marketing theory and practice. In 2008, he was a finalist for the John D. C. Little award from the INFORMS for his paper published in Marketing Science. This award is given annually to the best marketing paper published in Marketing Science and Management Science.

Since joining the Johnson School in 2001, he has taught Customer Relationship Management, Marketing and E-Commerce, and Marketing Research, as well as PhD courses. He has been recognized for exceptional teaching on multiple occasions. In 2008, the graduating MBA class of the Johnson School selected him to receive the Apple Award for excellence in teaching. He previously taught at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, where he received the Wharton Advisory Board Outstanding Teaching Award and the Graduate Student Association Council Teaching Award.
