Professor Rothman is senior quantitative analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein in New York City, where he is responsible for conducting research on quantitative strategies in the U.S. equities market and communicating these results to clients. The Bernstein quantitative strategies research group receives consistently high rankings from independent arbiters such as Institutional Investor. Prior to joining Bernstein, Rothman worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in their global quantitative equities group, where he was responsible for developing and enhancing their quantitative equity return models. Previously, he worked as an associate at Morgan Stanley in their quantitative strategies and derivatives group and at LaSalle Partners in their corporate finance group. In addition to his responsibilities at Bernstein, Rothman is a member of the Chicago Quantitative Alliance and the Society of Quantitative Analysts, and serves on the board of directors of the Mental Health Association of Essex County, New Jersey. Rothman holds a BA in philosophy from Brown University, an MA in statistics from Columbia University, and a PhD in finance from the University of Chicago.
