John O. McClain's work concerns production and operations management, quality management, quantitative methods, and health systems management. He has taught in executive education programs for Cornell and for various companies. Honors and awards include Woodrow Wilson Foundation and Ford Foundation Fellowships, a Mobil Scholar Award and the Clifford Whitcomb Faculty Fellowship. He is an author of six books and several pieces of educational software, as well as numerous scholarly articles. He has presented his research at conferences in several countries, and is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences and the American Production and Inventory Control Society.
Formerly President of the Manufacturing and Services Operations Management Society, Professor McClain has consulted for a variety of business and health-care organizations in the United States and abroad.
