New Career and Management Library Resources for Alumni

Career and business research tools include CareerBeam, IvyExec.com, and two new business research databases

May 25, 2009 | Ithaca, NY | The Johnson School is pleased to announce that it is providing alumni access to a variety of career and business research tools designed to help them navigate through this challenging economic cycle. New offerings include CareerBeam, IvyExec.com, and two new business research databases.

CareerBeam is a state-of-the-art program that helps job seekers and career switchers to determine what you want in your career and offers the steps to achieve it. It is a self-paced process for clarifying your career goals, developing professional resumes and cover letters, preparing for interviews, and implementing a strategic career search using Web-enabled exercises and research tools to guide your process. "We purchased CareerBeam as a resource for alumni who are thinking about either a job change or career change," says Career Management Center Director Karin Ash. "The assessment and research databases are rich with information to assist alumni who are in or planning a transition." Alumni will be able to register for CareerBeam through Johnson Alumni Connection (JAC) by June 8.

Business Research databases
In response to frequent requests from alumni for off-site access to business research materials, the Johnson School's Management Library has added two new article databases alumni can use to find current and historical information about companies, executives, industries, trends, and more, says Management Library Director Angela Horne. The two new databases are:

"We'll be looking for feedback over the coming year to learn if these two databases fill a niche for our graduates," says Horne. "When combined with CareerBeam, students will have access to a range of resources to support career and general business research."
