September 9, 2009 | Ithaca, NY | Cornell's Johnson School of Management is pleased to welcome Frederick Staudmyer (BS '77, MBA '79) as director of the Johnson School's Career Management Center. Staudmyer, a former member of the advisory council for Cornell's Entrepreneurial and Personal Enterprise Program (EPE), assumed his new role September 9.

"We are thrilled to have Fred joining our team," said Joe Thomas, dean of the Johnson School. "His experience and longtime connection to the Cornell community make him an ideal fit for students facing an increasingly dynamic employment environment. Fred knows what employers today are looking for, and I have every confidence that he and his team will be able to arm our graduates with the most current tools and information possible to help ensure their lifelong success."

Staudmyer comes to the Johnson School from his role as CEO of Garrett Sayer Group, a leading provider of technology staffing professionals. There, he was responsible for business development, best practices, and client management, and also acted as the company's chief financial officer.

"I can't express how excited I am to be returning to Cornell," said Staudmyer. "To have the opportunity to assist fellow Cornellians in managing their careers is such an honor and I know that along with the amazing team already in place at the Johnson School, we're going to help make great things happen for its talented graduates."

Previously, Staudmyer managed large human resource organizations and initiatives, including heading executive recruitment and staffing for Chase Manhattan Bank (now JP Morgan Chase) and acted as chief human resources officer for Ziff Communications. He also served as senior vice president and general manager at Manchester Partners International, now a division of Right Management Consultants, a Manpower Company.
