Young-Hoon Park Selected For Marketing Science Institute's Young Scholar Program

December 22, 2006 | Ithaca, NY - Young-Hoon Park, an assistant professor of marketing at the Johnson School at Cornell University, was selected to participate in the Marketing Science Institute's fourth biennial Young Scholars Program taking place in Park City, Utah on January 4-7, 2007.

The event brings together approximately 20 of the most promising young marketing scholars from throughout the U.S. to enhance their research collaboration and engagement with the Marketing Science Institute. Each of the invitees received their doctorate within the past three to six years and has been identified as a potential leader of the next generation of marketing academics. The event provides time for attendees to explore current and future directions with one another.

Young-Hoon Park's research centers on the analysis of online auctions, assessing the consumer's willingness to pay for auctions, and how to optimize Buy-It-Now prices to maximize expected revenue. Another research focus is customer relationship management and the cost-benefit analysis of setting optimal service levels, market shares, and profits of the retailers. Additional research interest includes the analysis of marketplace data from the entertainment industries (e.g., motion pictures, music, and video rentals) to help firms understand and forecast consumer activities.
