Johnson School to Host HABLA & Marketing Case CompetitionIrene Rosenfeld PhD '80, the CEO and Chairman of Frito Lay, will be Keynote Speaker October 17, 2005, Ithaca, New York The Johnson School's Hispanic American Business Leaders of America (HABLA) and the Johnson School Marketing Association (MA) are pleased to announce the 2005 Case Competition to be held on October 21-22, 2005 at Cornell University. Seven teams from Northeast business schools will compete for nearly $10,000 in prize money including the Johnson School, Wharton, NYU, Tulane, University of North Carolina, University of Virginia, and Columbia. Teams begin case analysis on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Participants will be judged on the strength of their business analysis, recommendations and presentation skills. The panel of judges is comprised of corporate leaders, HABLA alumni members and Johnson School faculty members. PepsiCo, a major sponsor of the event and developer of the case study, will be hosting an educational seminar and luncheon for the Johnson School community as the event continues. A welcome reception will be held on Friday evening for competing MBA students, HABLA club officers, corporate sponsors, and judges. Deniqua Crichlow, Director of the Office for Diversity and Inclusion, will speak at the welcome reception as will the president of HABLA, Arthur J. Munoz III. HABLA's mission is to educate the Johnson School community about the significant impact on business resulting from Latinos becoming the largest ethnic minority in the U.S., as well as to provide educational and career resources for Latino students and members.
